    2 Part time positions available - 45 hours per fortnight Fixed term till December 2019

     

    We are currently seeking two experienced, energetic and motivated people to join our Lifetime Learning team to support families in Wagga Wagga, Griffith and Leeton.

     

    The core mission of Anglicare (NSW South, West & ACT) is to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty for children, young people and families. We have a particular focus on serving vulnerable communities in the ACT and regional, rural NSW. Anglicare Riverina provides a range of services for children, young people and families throughout the Riverina and Murrumbidgee areas.

     

    About the role

    The role of the Aboriginal Family Worker is to build family capacity by providing support to Aboriginal families using partnership, strengths-based and family-centred approaches. Support is provided in both group settings and on an individual basis. This role will require weekly regional travel with the use of our fleet cars, and periodic overnight stays.

    The Lifetime Learning Program is an Indigenous community based individual and family support service that aims to build resilience in families who may be experiencing significant incidences of disadvantage. The program aims to provide early intervention and prevention services and resources that are aimed at improving children's development, wellbeing and education and supporting the capacity of those caring for them.

     

    What you will need:

    • Certificate IV in Community Services or Early Childhood is required - (Diploma qualifications preferred)
    • Rlevant experience working with families and children.

     

    This role is a Community Services Worker Grade 3 (NSW). The salary for this position is $65,346 per annum, (pro rata) plus 9.5% employer superannuation guarantee. Generous salary packaging benefits are available under Anglicare's PBI status. Anglicare also offers other benefits including additional personal leave and paid parental leave.

    This is an Indigenous specified role (pursuant to Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW). Accordingly, we are seeking applications from suitably qualified Indigenous Australians.
    Applicants will be required to undertake the psychometric profiling instrument - SafeSelectTM. Applicants must obtain a Working With Children Clearance through the Office of the Children's Guardian (NSW) and undergo a National Criminal History Check prior to an offer of employment. Applicants must also hold a current C class drivers Licence.
